Software-Defined Networking, Powered by Omada

If your network has grown up rather than been designed, a switch added here, an access point bolted on there, a router only one person knows how to log into, it’s costing you more than you think, in dropped Wi-Fi, slow troubleshooting, and risk you can’t see.

We install and manage software-defined networks built on TP-Link’s Omada platform, replacing that patchwork with a single system that’s documented, monitored, and controlled from one dashboard.

Site Survey First

Every install starts with a proper survey of your existing setup — not a guess at what hardware you need.

Zero Guesswork Deployment

Zero-touch provisioning means new switches and access points adopt their configuration automatically on install day.

100% UK Based

Our team are fully in-house and 100% UK based, ensuring consistent service quality, strong internal communication & accountability.

Cyber Essentials Plus Certified

Every network we install and manage is backed by our Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

Is Your Network Actually Holding You Back?

Most SMEs don’t choose an unmanaged or locally-managed network on purpose, it’s just what’s left after years of ad-hoc additions. A switch replaced after a fault. An access point added because “the Wi-Fi didn’t reach the back office.” A router configured by whoever set it up originally, with no documentation and no one else able to change it without risk.

None of that is unusual. But it creates real, ongoing problems:

How We Install Your Network

We treat installation as a project, not a hardware swap. Here’s what that looks like in practice:

Site Survey & Network Audit

We walk the site, review your existing switches, access points, cabling, and router configuration, and identify what can stay, what needs replacing, and where coverage or capacity issues exist.

Network Design

Access points placed based on an actual coverage survey, not guesswork, accounting for building materials, layout, and interference, so coverage is consistent across the whole office rather than assumed.

Staged Deployment

Hardware is deployed in a planned sequence to minimise disruption, critical infrastructure first, with old and new running in parallel where needed so there's no hard cutover that takes the office offline.

Zero-Touch Adoption

Each Omada switch, access point, and gateway is adopted into the cloud controller and automatically picks up its configuration, no manual per-device setup on install day.

Testing & Handover

We test coverage, failover, and segmentation before signing off, and hand over full documentation, so the network is understood by more than one person from day one.

Post-Install Health Check

Two to four weeks after go-live, we review real traffic and coverage data from the Omada controller and fine-tune access point power and channels based on how the office actually uses the network.

Ongoing Managed Support

Once live, the network is monitored and maintained under your Disking IT support agreement — patching, alerting, and changes handled centrally, with no need for an engineer on-site.

Why Move to a Software-Defined Network?

Faster Problem Resolution

A failing switch port or struggling access point shows up on the dashboard before it becomes a support call — instead of being diagnosed device-by-device on-site.

No Single Point of Knowledge

Configuration lives in the Omada controller, not in one person's memory — so the network keeps working the same way regardless of staff changes.

Consistent Wi-Fi, Properly Tuned

Access points are optimised as one system, automatically adjusting channels and power to reduce interference — not configured in isolation.

Built to Scale

Opening a second site doesn't mean starting from scratch — it's added to the same cloud controller and managed alongside every other location.

Centralised Security

Firmware updates, VLAN segmentation, and access policy are applied consistently across every device, not left to whichever settings a device shipped with.

Nearly four decades in business, privately owned, with priorities set by our clients — not investors looking for an exit.

Transparently Priced
Our managed IT tiers are published, from £25 per user and device. No obligation needed to get honest pricing on your cabling project.

Cyber Essentials Plus Certified
Network infrastructure underpins your security posture. Our own accreditation means security is designed in, not bolted on.

Local to Surrey, Hampshire & West Sussex
We know the building stock and connectivity challenges specific to this region, because we’re based here, not running a national call centre.

Still running on an unmanaged or locally-managed network?

Structured Cabling & Office Networking Installation FAQ's

Read some of our frequently asked questions on our structured cabling & office networking installations.

We stage deployment so old and new hardware can run in parallel where needed, meaning most installs avoid a hard cutover that takes the whole office offline at once. Timing and disruption are agreed upfront as part of the site survey.

Not necessarily. During the site survey we assess what's already in place and recommend a phased approach — replacing ageing or unmanaged hardware first, while keeping suitable existing equipment where it still makes sense.

An unmanaged network typically has little to no central configuration — devices largely run on default settings. A locally-managed network can be configured, but only by someone physically on-site, device by device, with no central dashboard. Both differ from a cloud-managed Omada SDN, where every device is controlled centrally from anywhere.

This depends on office size and how much existing infrastructure needs replacing versus reusing. A single-office install is typically completed within days following the site survey; multi-site rollouts are scheduled site by site.

Yes, this is commonly done as part of the same project as a cabling or office fit-out, since the physical infrastructure and the network management layer are naturally designed together.

It's monitored and managed as part of your ongoing Disking IT support agreement — including patching, proactive alerting, and configuration changes — so the network continues to be actively maintained rather than left as a one-off install.
