Does Your IT Provider Really Support Macs?
Ask most managed IT providers whether they support Mac, and you’ll usually get a yes. Ask what that…
You use your phone as normal. Your team stays on the O2 mobile network wherever it is available.
The signal drops. When a phone loses O2 coverage, it connects to Starlink’s low Earth orbit satellites automatically.
Essential tasks keep working. Messaging, maps, weather and location sharing carry on through supported apps, including WhatsApp, Messenger, Google Maps, Apple Maps, BBC Weather and AllTrails.
The best part?
It’s included in our Unlimited 02 Business Plan, and is just £2.50/month/line on our Plus 02 Business Plan.
Because the add-on rolls monthly, you can switch it on for the people who need it and leave it off for those who do not. We will help you work out which lines are worth covering.
If your people work beyond the reach of a normal mobile signal, O2 Satellite for Business keeps them connected. It suits any organisation with staff in rural or remote locations, from farms and estates to construction sites, field service teams and outreach workers. It also helps if you have lone workers who need a way to stay in touch with the office. Because it runs on the smartphones your team already carry, there is no new equipment to buy, train people on or keep charged.
O2 cites government figures showing one in five registered businesses in England is based in a rural area.
Construction, surveying and field service teams working on sites with poor signal.
Utilities, land management and environmental teams who work outdoors across large areas.
Charities and public sector organisations with outreach staff, volunteers or lone workers.
Tell us where your people work and which phones they use, and we will give you a straight answer. If O2 Satellite for Business is a good fit, we will recommend the right plan and set everything up for you. If it is not, we will say so.

No. O2 Satellite for Business is a mobile service for individual smartphones. It does not provide broadband for an office, farm or site. If you need internet for a location with no fibre or reliable mobile signal, speak to our team and we will talk through the options.
It is included at no extra cost with O2 Business Ultimate plans. On Plus plans you can add it for £2.50 per month per line (+VAT) on a 30 day rolling basis.
It works on compatible Apple, Google and Samsung smartphones. We will check your current handsets and tell you whether they qualify or need upgrading.
Supported services include messaging, maps, weather and location sharing through apps such as WhatsApp, Messenger, Google Maps, Apple Maps, BBC Weather and AllTrails. It is built for essential tasks, not video calls or large downloads.
At launch, standard voice calls, including calls to emergency services, are not supported over satellite. Please keep that in mind when planning for lone workers, and speak to us about your wider safety arrangements.
2 says satellite connectivity extends its UK landmass coverage from 89% to 95%. Like most direct to device satellite services, it works best outdoors with a clear view of the sky.
No. The phone connects to a satellite automatically when it loses the O2 mobile network, and returns to the normal network when coverage is available again.
