Our most recent case study was written by Mark Barr at the East Hampshire District Council. As part of their new office renovation, we provided a full test, fix and installation of over 480 RJ45 data points.

Scope of the project:

The client was in the process of moving to their new office. The office was previously used by another business, with existing data points however the infrastructure had been added to by multiple installers over the years, therefore leaving them with no documentation or knowledge on what went where.

The customer enquired with us, to provide testing of over 480 data points, make any fixes or take off any ports that were uneconomical to fix, as well as install new data points as part of their fit-out.

We worked with the clients fit-out contractor, Overbury, to supply a method and risk assessment for our work, full completion of work, all of which was met within our delivery time frame.

Work completed:

  • Risk Assessment, Method Statement & Project Plan to complete work around the customer requirements.
  • Testing of over 480 RJ45 data points across CAT5e & CAT6 cabling
  • Installation of new data points, either relocating existing cabling that led to ports that were not required, or installation of new CAT6 LSOH cable with terminations
  • Full documentation produced for every data point for easy network management and maintenance.
